About Power Trading Group
Power Trading Group (PTG) is a futures trading education and automation company that teaches discretionary day trading in a live professional community and runs a rules-based automated trading system for self-directed retail futures traders.
We run both sides in the NQ and ES futures markets. Our traders make discretionary decisions by hand at the open every session, and our automated system runs a growing set of tested strategies with no one at the screen, with every record published drawdowns included.

What Power Trading Group Does
PTG trades two ways, and they are separate on purpose. Discretionary trading is where a trader reads the market and makes each decision by hand; we teach it and trade it live in the Trader's Thinktank. Automated trading is where a fixed set of rules makes every decision; that is AutoPilot Trader.
On the discretionary side, The Two Hour Trader is the introductory strategy. Everything beyond it, including choosing levels of interest and grading A+ setups, is taught in the Thinktank through group mentorship and weekly coaching calls. On the automated side, AutoPilot Trader runs several strategies, each automated only after it clears its own validation run. The Two Hour Trader was the first, Spring is the second, and more are in research.
| Discretionary (manual) | Automated (systematic) | |
|---|---|---|
| Who makes the decisions | You, trading by hand alongside PTG's traders | The system's fixed rules, with no one at the screen |
| Frameworks | The Two Hour Trader as the introductory strategy, then the Levels of Interest and A+ trade framework and the wider playbook taught in weekly coaching | Multiple rules-based strategies: the Two Hour Trader (THT) in Core and Shield builds, Spring, and more in research |
| PTG products | The Trader's Thinktank (group mentorship and weekly coaching), The Two Hour Trader course, proprietary indicators | AutoPilot Trader (Core and Shield builds) |
| Time commitment | A morning game plan and the first 90 to 120 minutes of the session | A 35-minute setup call, then none |
| How it grows | Members add skills and setups through coaching calls and trade review | New strategies ship to every active license at no extra cost |
| Best for | Traders who want to build and own the skill | Traders who want market exposure without screen time |
AutoPilot Trader: Automated Trading
AutoPilot Trader (APT) is a multi-strategy automated trading system that runs hands-free on the trader's own brokerage account, placing every entry, stop, profit target and exit without anyone at the screen. Its first strategy, the Two Hour Trader (THT), runs in two builds: Core, the standard build Kyle runs on his own account, and Shield, which adds filters for accounts with a hard drawdown limit. A second strategy, Spring, trades a different pattern on a faster chart, and further strategies join the system as they clear validation.
See how AutoPilot Trader worksThe Trader's Thinktank: Group Mentorship and Live Trading
The Thinktank is PTG's discretionary side and its trading mentorship group: a paid membership where full-time traders make every call by hand and share their screens through the first 90 to 120 minutes of every session on ES and NQ futures. Members get an 8:45 AM Eastern game plan, weekly 90-minute coaching calls, direct feedback on their own trades and a searchable archive of more than 100 hours of recorded coaching. This is where everything past the introductory Two Hour Trader strategy is taught, including Kyle's Levels of Interest and A+ trade framework, through the weekly coaching calls and trade review. The goal is a playbook members can run on their own.
See what the Thinktank includesThe Two Hour Trader: The Introductory Strategy
The Two Hour Trader is a 43-minute course covering one high-probability intraday strategy, with its entry criteria, exit strategy and risk management. It is the starting point for new members, deliberately one strategy rather than a full curriculum, and it is also the first strategy AutoPilot Trader automated. It sells for $139 and comes free with every Thinktank membership.
See the course outlineProprietary TradingView Indicators
PTG builds its indicators in-house and makes them available only to Thinktank members. The suite includes THT Signals, which plots the same entries, targets and stops as APT's Two Hour Trader strategy, along with Levels of Interest, Reference Points Pro, Relative Volume and StatMap. The Levels of Interest indicator maps candidate areas for discretionary traders, and deciding which ones to trade remains a human judgment.
What Makes Power Trading Group Different
Where we sit next to the alternatives most traders compare us with.
One trader runs both sides, and the line between them is published
Every AutoPilot Trader strategy comes out of research led by Kyle Janas, a full-time trader for more than a decade who still trades discretionary setups by hand with members at the open. Vendors such as QuantVue sell a catalog of algorithms (Qzeus, Qkronos_EVO and others) with configurable settings and leave buyers to choose and tune them. APT strategies arrive tested, configured and running together in one system. We state plainly which parts of our trading are automated and which are not, so nobody buys the automation expecting it to trade the way a discretionary trader does.
Finished strategies, configured for you in about 35 minutes
The usual alternative to buying automation is building it yourself: learning a strategy scripting language, coding the rules, then backtesting, debugging and maintaining them on your own. APT arrives as a set of tested strategies. On a live Zoom call the PTG team connects it to your broker, matches the strategies to your account, sets your position size, and tests execution end to end.
A record you can rebuild from the raw files
Every published APT figure lives on a single page, the performance and risk record, with drawdowns printed beside returns and losing months shown at the same size as winning ones. Daily results and trade logs are free to download as CSV files before anyone buys. Published figures are simulated and labeled that way, and monthly review videos recap the account as it actually traded.
Futures specialists, live every session
Large day-trading communities such as Warrior Trading and Bear Bull Traders are built primarily around stocks. The Thinktank centers on ES and NQ futures, with dozens of experienced traders in the room and the open traded on a shared screen every session. Members post their own setups for review by people who trade for a living, which is where most of the improvement happens.
Terms that keep us accountable
Thinktank memberships bill quarterly or annually and can be cancelled anytime from the member account. APT licenses renew at the rate each member joined at, so price increases apply only to new licenses. Strategy updates and new strategies ship to every active license at no extra cost, as THT V4 did on September 1, 2026.
Who Uses Power Trading Group
Members range from people who placed their first trade last month to traders with fifteen years behind them. Most fit one of these groups.
Discretionary traders
- Discretionary day traders who can read a chart but lose money in execution, whether that means cutting winners early, holding losers or trading on emotion after a loss.
- New futures traders who start with The Two Hour Trader as their introductory strategy before trading real size.
- Developing traders who are inconsistently profitable and want group mentorship: live coverage of the open, weekly coaching calls and structured review of their own trades.
- Stock and options traders who apply PTG's framework and indicators to their own tickers on a 2-minute chart.
Automation users
- Working professionals with a day job who want futures exposure without sitting at a screen through the session, and run AutoPilot Trader on MNQ micros or full-size NQ in their own brokerage account.
- Traders with a hard drawdown limit, such as prop firm evaluations, funded accounts with trailing rules or small balances, who use the Shield build and the sizing tool on the performance page to check fit before committing.
- Consistently profitable discretionary traders who keep trading by hand but want an automated strategy running so part of their results stops depending on screen time.
The Team Behind Power Trading Group
Kyle Janas started Power Trading Group in 2017 as a subscription service for premium market analysis and livestreamed trading of the index futures open. That livestream grew into the Trader's Thinktank, and in September 2025 Kyle launched AutoPilot Trader with its first strategy, the Two Hour Trader, to a cohort of founding members.
PTG remains a small, founder-led company. Kyle runs both the discretionary and automated sides. The Thinktank team of a community manager, a lead trader and a moderator are discretionary traders, supported by contractors, and the Thinktank room brings together dozens of experienced traders every session.

Kyle is a largely self-taught futures trader who has traded full time for more than ten years, specializing in intraday index futures read through price action and volume. He has mentored over 100 traders since 2017, traded funded accounts through multiple prop firms and appeared on TopstepTV.
He trades discretionary setups by hand in the Thinktank every morning. He leads the research behind AutoPilot Trader, which automates strategies only once they hold up in testing, and keeps the discretionary and automated books separate.

How Power Trading Group Works
How to reach us, who you will work with, and what the first week looks like.
Contact and response times
The fastest route is the live chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of any page on powertrading.group, which we answer within 24 hours on business days. For press, partnerships or anything the chat cannot handle, email support@powertrading.group. Thinktank members can also ask the founder and moderators directly in the room during the session.
Who you work with
Thinktank members work directly with Kyle, Mish, Mo and Rainman in the live room and on coaching calls. AutoPilot Trader licensees are set up by the PTG team on a live call, then get priority email and chat support and a private community of other APT users.
AutoPilot Trader onboarding
After purchase you receive the license agreement and a link to book your setup call at a time that suits you. On the call, which takes about 35 minutes, the team connects APT to your broker, matches the strategies to your account, sizes the position to your balance and tests execution end to end. From then on the system monitors the market 24 hours a day, five days a week, and you can switch it off at any time.
Thinktank onboarding
Checkout runs on Traders Thinktank, our members platform, and access starts immediately. Indicator access is granted by hand once you comment your TradingView username on the indicator posts. A normal week is the 8:45 AM Eastern game plan and live screen-shared open each trading day, plus a 90-minute coaching call that is recorded if you miss it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Power Trading Group?
Power Trading Group is a Dallas-based futures trading automation and education company founded by Kyle Janas in 2017. It works on two sides: discretionary day trading, taught and traded live in the Trader's Thinktank, and automated trading through AutoPilot Trader.
Does PTG teach manual trading or sell automated trading?
Both, as separate products. The Trader's Thinktank and The Two Hour Trader course teach discretionary trading, where you make each decision by hand, and AutoPilot Trader runs automated strategies that trade without you.
Does AutoPilot Trader trade the same way Kyle trades in the Thinktank?
No. AutoPilot Trader runs its own rules-based strategies, starting with the Two Hour Trader, and does not replicate Kyle's discretionary Levels of Interest and A+ framework, which depends on judgment calls a system does not make. That framework is taught in the Thinktank through weekly coaching.
What strategies does AutoPilot Trader run?
AutoPilot Trader launched with the Two Hour Trader (THT), which now runs in Core and Shield builds, and adds Spring as a second strategy that trades a different pattern on a faster chart. More strategies are in research, and each ships to every active license at no extra cost once it clears validation.
Is AutoPilot Trader an AI trading bot?
AutoPilot Trader runs rules-based strategies built and tested by a working trader. Every entry and exit follows fixed rules, and there is no black-box model making its own decisions.
What markets does AutoPilot Trader trade?
APT currently trades NQ futures and the micro contract, MNQ. Additional instruments are added only after they clear their own validation run.
How much does Power Trading Group cost?
AutoPilot Trader is $5,000 per year, plus about $89 a month in third-party execution and TradingView costs. The Trader's Thinktank is $267 per quarter or $847 per year, and The Two Hour Trader course is $139 on its own or included with any Thinktank membership.
Is there a free trial of AutoPilot Trader?
There is no standalone APT trial. The closest option is THT Signals, an indicator included with the Thinktank that plots the same entries, targets and stops as APT's Two Hour Trader strategy, so members can watch the strategy on their own charts before automating it.
Are AutoPilot Trader's results real?
Every published performance figure is simulated and labeled that way on the performance and risk page, where the daily data files can be downloaded and checked. Monthly review videos recap the account as it actually traded, losing months included. No result is guaranteed, and your own results will depend on account size, position sizing and market conditions.
Does PTG ever hold my money?
No. AutoPilot Trader connects to a brokerage account in your name, your funds never leave that account, and you can disconnect the system at any time.
Can I cancel?
Thinktank memberships can be cancelled anytime from your account and run to the end of the period you paid for. AutoPilot Trader is an annual license that renews at the rate you joined at unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Do I need trading experience?
AutoPilot Trader needs none, because the team configures everything and the system makes every trading decision. Newer Thinktank members start with the included Two Hour Trader course as their introductory strategy and build from there in the weekly coaching calls.
How do I contact Power Trading Group?
Use the live chat on any page of powertrading.group, which is answered within 24 hours on business days, or email support@powertrading.group. Thinktank members can also ask the founder and moderators directly in the room during the session.
